Question 5: What are natural advantages to develop tourist services of the Project?
Answer:

Cat Ba archipelago, consisting of 366 islands large and small, occupies a very special place in the world and in the hearts of nature-lovers across the globe. Recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, it is adjacent to the equally magnificent Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site. Cat Ba island, which possesses private beaches, diversified topography and geology, rich biodiversity and long-standing local culture, has full condition to develop various kinds of tourism, such as: sea-bathing tourism, ecological tourism, forest-dicovering tourism, sea tourism, vacation tourism, culture tourism… in all 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Directly affected by southwestern summer monsoons and northeast winter monsoons, Cat Ba climate in general is less severe than that of the other places at the same latitude on land.

Cát Bà Amatina Project is located at Cai Gia gulf, Cat Ba island, Hai Phong city – one of three vertices of the North economic triangle of Vietnam. Moreover, Hai Phong lies on economic belt Vietnam – China (Program “Two corridors, one economic belt” running through Hai Phong – Hanoi – Lao Cai – Ha Khau – Kunming; and Hai Phong – Ha Noi – Lang Son – Bang Tuong – Nanning). This location is very convenient for developing economy and tourism because of its connection to large and potential markets, such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, China…and its convenient transportation (by road, by water-way or by air).

Cat Ba is the biggest island among 1,969 islands of Ha Long Bay Archipelago. The nature here is pristine with forests, sea, rivers, springs, mountains, hills, valleys, sand beaches, and caves which all together create many wonderful beauties. Cat Ba National Park has an area of 15,200 ha with virgin tropical forest of 570 ha that has a rich variety of plant and animal species like White-headed Langur and Kim Giao Plant (Podocarpus fleuryi Hickel).
