Dr. Robert L. Livingston: Cat Ba and Ha Long Bay is the most beautiful place I had ever visited
Robert L. Livingston is a Founding Partner of The Livingston Group and a distinguished former Republican Member of Congress from Louisiana.  He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election in 1977 and was re-elected to eleven successive two-year terms. Mr. Livingston served as a member of the Appropriations Committee through most of his time in Congress. He was chosen by his peers to serve as Speaker-designate for the 106th Congress – and thus became one of the 5 most powerful persons of the USA.

Livingston Groups established by him is one of the most famous lobbying firms in Washington DC, that covers a wide range of fields on global scope, from banking and financial services, to oil and gas, investment, education and non-profit organizations, energy, web security, national defense, environment and natural resources, taxation, international health and pharmacy, science, telecommunications, transportation, delivery service, shipbuilding and seaport services, etc.

On 18-24 February 2012, Dr. Livingston paid a working visit to Vietnam with the view to improve the strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the USA and to bring investment opportunities to Vietnamese corporations and businesses.

Dr. Livingston’s working schedule in Vietnam lasts for 6 days, during which he will have busy meeting appointments with leaders of Vietnam, of Hai phong city and of Quang Ninh province.

During his stay in Vietnam, Dr. Livingston held many working sessions with VINACONEX-ITC at Hanoi, Haiphong and Quang Ninh to discuss:
-  The cooperation in investment into Cat Ba Amatina Project, especially in hotel-casino component;
-  The cooperation in training by introducing a US vocational training school to create friendship relation with a Vietnamese vocational training school to conduct training at various levels;
-   Opportunities to invest in VINACONEX JSC and VINACONEX-ITC.
 
Dr. Livingston also paid a special visit to Haiphong to witness Cat Ba Amatina Project and traveled from Cat Ba Island through Halong Bay to Quang Ninh.
 
After exchanging key information on cooperation opportunity to invest into Cat Ba Amatina Project during the meeting held at Hanoi Headquarters of VINEACONEX-ITC, representatives of VINACONEX-ITC introduced to Dr. Livingston details of each component of the Project right at the project site on Cat Ba Island. Dr. Livingston was very impressed on location and scope of the Project and highly appreciated feasibility of it. Having opportunity to observe Project site from the sea and to travel on yacht through Lan Ha Bay to Ha Long city, he exclaimed: I had never visited such a beautiful place in my life!”.

Dr. Livingston safely came back to the US, bringing with him good impressions on Vietnam, and especially on tourist development potentials of Cat Ba – Ha Long. His visit opens progressive investment cooperation between Vietnam and the US in tourist real estate based on reservation and enhancement of precious values of the nature.
